Intro to Precision Rifle 1

Based on the first day content of our full Precision Rifle course, this training is designed to introduce shooters to the concepts of precision shooting and to show them what their current equipment is capable of. With a focus on precision accuracy and collecting consistent data, students will learn about setting up their long range shooting equipment, obtaining zero, getting data to 300+ yards, and get introduced to external ballistics and working with a spotter.

**Graduates of Intro 1 are eligible to get a 200.00 tuition discount from the full 3 day Precision Rifle course.**

Intro to Precision Rifle 2

Based on the second day content of our full Precision Rifle course, students will obtain data on their rifles out to 500 yards and beyond, learn to work with spotters and become good spotters themselves, build range cards and learn to estimate range, and work with wind calls and estimation.

**This course has a pre-requisite of our Intro to Precision Rifle 1 course or similar training, based on our approval.**

8 Hours of Range Instruction Includes:

  • 500+ Yard Precision Accuracy
  • Precision Mindset
  • Marksmanship Fundamentals
  • Building a Range Card
  • Adjusting for Wind
  • Range Estimation
  • Working with a Spotter
  • Being a Spotter

 

Required Equipment:

  • Reliable Semi-Automatic or Bolt-Action Rifle (minimum caliber .223, preferred caliber .26 or greater)
  • Scope mounted on Rifle with quality mount (recommend 0 MOA Base) and rings and a minimum of a boresight or rough zero
  • **Scope should have mil-dot or similar BDC or range-estimating reticle (if you have a standard crosshair/duplex reticle, please let us know)
  • **Scope turrets should have a minimum of 40 MOA of adjustment**
  • For Intro 1 – 50 Rounds of Match Quality or Similar Ammunition 
  • For Intro 2 – 100 Rounds of Match Quality or Similar Ammunition 
  • 50 Rounds of Match Quality or Similar Ammunition 
  • Any Manual of Operation associated with your particular Scope and/or Rifle (if available)
  • Scope ring or scope mount hex drivers, allen wrenches, or related tools in order to make adjustments in the field
  • Data Book or Dope Book with ballistic charts for caliber and ammunition being used (we recommend Impact Data Books or Storm Tactical)
  • Note Taking Materials (includes 3 Pens or Pencils)
  • Basic Calculator
  • Shooting Platform (bi-pod, shooting pack, or shooting sticks; butt stock rest or monopod also recommended)
  • Shooting Mat or Drag Bag (foam sleeping mats will also work fine)
  • Cleaning and Lubricating Supplies (bore snakes, bore guides, and one-piece cleaning rods recommended)
  • Hearing Protection and Eye Protection (both ear plugs and electronic hearing protection recommended)
  • Knee and Elbow Pads (optional)
  • Spotting Scope (if available)
  • Laser Rangefinder (if available)
  • Handheld Weather Station (if available)
  • Lunch, Snacks, and Water
  • Hat, Sunscreen, Closed Toed Shoes, and Weather Appropriate Clothing
